From the mountains of Central Pennsylvania Masorti crashes into the music scene embracing a genre that can best be described as New Alternative or "New Alt." A wide range of Influences ranging from Joe Jackson, Elvis Costello, Leonad Cohen, Miles Davis, Gordon Lightfoot, Van Morrison, Muddy Waters, Lou Reed, Johnny Cash, Paul Simon, Dire Straits, Tom Waits, Neil Young, Rush, and The Doors are blended into a style and sound that Masorti makes his own.
Lyrically, Masorti has an authentic, unique, and evocative writing style seamlessly creating images and storylines that are interesting, thought-provoking, and often laced with raw emotion at times laying bare a troubled journey. He writes broadly and with passion being both prolific (having recorded 34 tracks in the last 20 months) and poetic.
But above all else Masorti is a storyteller, each song weaving and revealing a sliver of life from the perspective of the experienced.
Late into the scene, Masorti spent 27 years as a criminal defense attorney trying criminal cases in the valleys and shadows of Central Appalachia. It was in 2005 and while immersed in that experience that Masorti began playing the guitar and writing songs. Storytelling and songwriting came naturally and the artist moved to New York City in March of 2021 to pursue his passion full-time. It wasn't long before Masorti connected with some of New York City’s finest musicians and began performing and recording regularly.
